About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Machine Learning Engineer to join our client’s dynamic team based in Lincolnshire. This hybrid working role offers an exciting opportunity to work on pioneering projects involving advanced signal processing and automation. The successful candidate will be instrumental in developing and deploying machine learning solutions that address complex real-world challenges, particularly in areas such as communications, RF, defence, and aerospace sectors. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to design models that convert vast amounts of data into actionable intelligence, directly impacting operational efficiency and mission success.
This position provides a platform to work on innovative programmes where your models will be integrated into real-world applications, moving beyond research into tangible deployment. The role demands a blend of technical expertise, practical problem-solving skills, and a passion for leveraging AI to solve mission-critical challenges.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in developing and deploying machine learning solutions within data-intensive environments. A degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Data Science, or a related field is preferred. Proven experience with Python and modern ML frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or scikit-learn is essential. Hands-on experience in signal processing, communications, RF, or similar domains will be highly regarded. Candidates should demonstrate a solid understanding of algorithms, data analysis, and model optimization techniques.

Security clearance is highly desirable; current SC clearance is a significant advantage. However, candidates who are eligible and willing to undergo the clearance process will also be considered. Strong communication skills, the ability to work collaboratively in a team, and a proactive approach to problem-solving are key attributes for success in this role.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement machine learning models for signal recognition and classification tasks.
- Extract meaningful signals from noisy and complex datasets to improve detection accuracy and operational insights.
- Automate detection workflows and GUI operations using AI techniques, including intelligent frequency band selection and signal filtering.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to identify technical requirements and translate them into effective ML solutions.
- Conduct data analysis, feature engineering, and model validation to ensure robustness and reliability of deployed solutions.
- Maintain and improve existing ML models, ensuring they adapt to evolving operational environments.
- Document development processes, methodologies, and results to facilitate knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in machine learning and signal processing to incorporate innovative techniques into projects.
