We're seeking an exceptional Software Development Engineer to join our Lead Generation and Detection Services (LEGENDS) organization, where we're transforming the future of recruiting through innovative technology solutions. This role offers the exciting opportunity to work with a team driving the evolution of our existing services and pioneering new AI/ML-powered recruiting products. The team focuses on foundational data about the job ecosystem within Amazon. We own a knowledge-graph of key attributes used to power ML systems across the organization. You will have the opportunity to work on systems that scale across the entire recruiting experience and work closely with scientists to deliver world-class ML solutions.

Key Job Responsibilities

We are looking for a software engineer who has strong technical abilities, a focus on the customer experience, great teamwork and communication skills, and a motivation to achieve results. You will work alongside applied and research scientists solving complex machine learning problems. Familiarity with Machine Learning lifecycle management, such as model training, validation, debugging tools, and analysis techniques would be ideal.

A Day in the Life

Your daily activities will range from writing code, reviewing requirements with the product team, or reviewing your peer's code. You'll work closely with product, scientists, and engineers assigned to a shared project focused on delivering value to our customers.

About the Team

The Lead Generation & Detection Services (LEGENDS) organization is a specialized organization focused on developing AI-driven solutions to enable fair and efficient talent acquisition processes across Amazon.

Our team focuses on building systems for engineering and science foundational systems used across the recruiting process. Our work encompasses capabilities across the entire talent acquisition lifecycle, including role creation, recruitment strategy, sourcing, candidate evaluation, and talent deployment. The focus is on utilizing state-of-the-art solutions using Deep Learning, Generative AI, and Large Language Models (LLMs) for recruitment at scale that can support immediate hiring needs as well as longer-term workforce planning for corporate roles.

Basic Qualifications

  • Experience (non-internship) in professional software development
  • Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design
  • Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems
  • Experience with full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
  • Experience in machine learning, data mining, information retrieval, statistics or natural language processing
