Overview

Machine Operative

Humdinger, Heckington, NG34 9JH

Looking for a hands-on manufacturing role where you can learn specialist machinery, develop your skills and play a key part in food production?

We're looking for a Machine Operator to join our team in Heckington. You'll operate automated processing equipment, ensure products meet quality standards, and help deliver production plans safely, efficiently and on time.

Shift: 3 on, 4 off covering Monday-Saturday (Blocks of Monday-Wednesday for 4 weeks followed by Thursday-Saturday for 4 weeks) 12-hour shifts, 18:00 - 06:00

Breaks: 3 x paid 20 minutes

Pay Rate: £16.14 per hour

Closing Date: 27/07/2026

Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor automated processing machinery.
  • Deliver production plans safely, accurately and efficiently.
  • Complete production documentation and system transactions accurately.
  • Support product quality through a right-first-time approach.
  • Identify and report safety, quality or performance issues.
  • Work flexibly across processing areas to support operational needs.

Qualifications

  • An understanding of food safety - prior training such as Food Safety Level 2 will be beneficial, however, you will also receive this training via Humdinger
  • Formal basic Mechanical appreciation or an interest in machinery
  • Good oral and written communication skills are required and paperwork to be completed and signed off where necessary.
  • Experience within a factory environment such as Production Operative; Line Leader; Machine Operative; General Operative; Machine Minder; Line Technician
