Location: Airdrie Salary: £12.67 per hour Shift: Backshift (Monday to Friday / 14:00 - 1430 or 16:00 - 00:30) Join a Leading UK Food Manufacturer Albert Bartlett is one of the UK’s best‑known fresh produce brands, supplying high‑quality potatoes and potato products to major supermarkets, wholesalers and foodservice customers. We operate across multiple UK sites including Airdrie, Boston, Westwick, and Jersey, and remain a proud family‑run business with a commitment to quality and sustainability. We’re recruiting a Machine Operator / Machine Setter to support our backshift production team. This hands‑on role is ideal for someone mechanically minded, detail‑oriented, and confident working in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment. What You’ll Be DoingMachine Setup & Operation Set up, changeover, and calibrate production machinery for different product requirements Operate machinery safely and efficiently to maintain production flow Monitoring & Troubleshooting Monitor machine performance throughout the shift Identify and resolve minor mechanical issues quickly to minimise downtime Routine Maintenance Complete routine checks and basic maintenance tasks Escalate more complex mechanical problems to the engineering team Quality Control Check product quality regularly to ensure standards are met Adjust machine settings when necessary to maintain consistency Reporting & Recordkeeping Accurately document machine settings, faults, and performance data Maintain clear, audit‑ready records Team Collaboration Work closely with fellow Operators, Setters and Shift Leaders Support continuous improvement and efficient production flow Health & Safety Follow all site safety guidelines, hygiene standards, and SOPs Maintain a clean and safe work area What We’re Looking For You’ll be a great fit if you have: Experience as a Machine Operator, Machine Setter, Production Operative, or similar manufacturing role Hands‑on mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn Ability to solve problems quickly and work independently Strong attention to detail Willingness to work backshift Experience in food manufacturing is helpful but full training is provided.
