Machine Operators

Machine Operator vacancies: Telford, Shropshire

We are looking for up to 20 experienced Machine Operators to join a long standing food production business in Telford, Shropshire, previous experience within the food manufacturing, food packaging, FMCG, pharmaceutical or packaging sector would be highly advantageous, but is not essential.

This business significantly expanded last year by installing 2 new production lines and putting an extension on the back of their factory, and there are plans for further expansion and new lines to be installed in 2027.

We are looking for someone who lives within a 25 mile radius of Telford, Shropshire, this role will be working a 4 on 4 off shift pattern (12 hour days and nights shifts), the starting salary is just over A GBP 35,000 per annum, initially rising to just under A GBP 39,500 per annum, and then finally increase to just over A GBP 43,500 per annum once fully signed off and trained.

This will be a 2 stage interview process, with the first stage consisting of a numeracy and literacy assessment on site in Telford, Shropshire.

These roles would be a great fit for someone who has previously worked as a Production Technician, Manufacturing Technician, Technical Operator, Process Operator, Skilled Machine Operator, Machine Setter or Skilled Machinist within a production/manufacturing facility.

What You Will Do

Drive performance on state:of:the:art production lines, ensuring efficiency and smooth operations. Lead and train machine operators to achieve optimal results. Identify and solve technical issues with machinery to minimise downtime. Implement and refine processes to boost productivity through continuous improvement. Ensure compliance with Food Safety, Quality, and Health and Safety standards. Manage start:ups and changeovers, adhering to standard operating procedures.

What You Will Bring

A strong technical mindset and hands:on experience with machinery. Proven ability to solve problems and take action under pressure. Enthusiasm for learning new techniques and technologies. Effective communication skills to lead and collaborate with team members. Previous experience in the food or processing industry is ideal but not essential.
