About The Role

The purpose of this role is to support the efficient operation of the extrusion production lines, ensuring sheet is produced in accordance with the production plan and required specifications. Working as part of the Extrusion Team, you will help maximise equipment performance while maintaining compliance with all operational, quality, health and safety, and hygiene standards.

You will understand and fulfil your responsibilities in line with company policies, systems, and procedures, supporting product safety, legality, integrity, and quality. This includes promptly identifying and escalating any issues that require immediate management attention to ensure compliance and continuous operational excellence.

Key Accountabilities & Results Areas

  • Operate the extrusion lines including vents, vacuum pumps, screen packs, dies, casting rolls effectively and safely
  • Ensure product is manufactured within specification, inspect for deviations/visual defects/non conformities and escalate to Team Leader, and prepare all finished material for dispatch
  • Change material rolls with minimum down-time and maintain records as required
  • Ensure the extrusion line and weighing facility are clean and maintained within established guidelines
  • Ensure action if the machine stops or stalls and escalate to Team Leader if required
  • Routinely carry out quality checks to ensure that products meet pre-defined specifications
  • Maintain accurate quality and production records and log details onto Faerch QMS
  • Ensure the retrieval and restocking of consumables and materials to continue production
  • Report any machinery or equipment in need of repairs
  • Keep plastic properly separated – no mixed plastics of different colour or paper/absorbent pads when granulating
  • Regularly complete designated training and procedure updates
  • Comply with all current Health & Safety policies and procedures
  • Maintain hygiene and housekeeping standards in the work area and around machines when they are down
  • Adopt working practices to comply with Company and general health and safety requirements
  • Communicate with team leaders and all other personnel as required
  • Help out in other areas of the business if the situation requires it
