Machine Shop Supervisor
Machine Shop Supervisor - Precision Manufacturing
Oxfordshire
Are you a hands-on leader from a machine shop environment who thrives on driving performance, leading teams, and making a real impact on the shop floor? Would you enjoy leading the manufacture of one of the most technically advanced safety-critical products in aerospace?
We’re working with a highly respected engineering organisation that is investing in its manufacturing capability and looking for a Machine Shop Supervisor to lead a skilled Machine Shop team. This is a rare opportunity to step into a well-established, high-performing environment where your leadership will directly influence output, quality, and team success.
Working with a team of skilled machinists, technicians, and manufacturing specialists, you'll oversee production using a range of CNC machining centres and precision manufacturing equipment, ensuring quality, safety, and delivery remain at the highest standards. This is far more than a traditional shop floor supervisory role. The business is looking for someone who wants to develop into a future Cell Leader, making this an excellent opportunity for someone looking to take the next step in their manufacturing leadership career.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
