Machine Technician – £17.51 per hour

Location: March Immediate Starts Available

Are you a hands-on problem solver who thrives on maintaining high-performing machinery?

We’re seeking a skilled and proactive Machine Technician to join our production team. Your role will be critical in ensuring machinery operates efficiently, safely, and consistently—helping us deliver high-quality products with minimal downtime.

This opportunity is ideal for someone with technical ability, strong attention to detail, and a passion for continuous improvement in a dynamic environment.


What You’ll Be Doing

Production & Machine Operation

  • Operate machinery safely and efficiently in line with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Complete pre-start checks and ensure accurate machine setups
  • Run equipment to meet production targets and quality standards
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and audit-ready work area

Line Support & Teamwork

  • Provide operational support to maintain workflow and productivity
  • Communicate clearly and allocate tasks as needed
  • Lead by example in safety, hygiene, and productivity
  • Coach team members to build skills and confidence

Monitoring & Adjustments

  • Continuously monitor machine performance and product quality
  • Conduct routine checks (weights, seals, coding, metal detection)
  • Make real-time adjustments to optimise output and reduce waste

Maintenance & Fault-Finding

  • Perform basic maintenance, cleaning, and lubrication
  • Diagnose and resolve minor mechanical issues
  • Escalate complex faults quickly and support repairs

Quality & Compliance

  • Ensure all products meet company and customer standards
  • Maintain accurate records for traceability and audits
  • Follow hygiene, GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice), and food safety requirements

Continuous Improvement & Safety

  • Identify opportunities to enhance efficiency and performance
  • Support lean initiatives and process improvements
  • Strict adherence to Health & Safety policies and procedures

What We’re Looking For

  • Preference for experience in food production or manufacturing
  • Basic mechanical or engineering knowledge
  • Understanding of HACCP, GMP, and hygiene standards
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Confident communicator and reliable team player
  • Proactive, hands-on approach
  • Basic IT skills for data entry and reporting

  • Shift C: 17:00 – 02:00
