The Role

We are recruiting for a Machine / Production Operative to contribute to the production of high-quality medical and healthcare products. Your responsibilities will include operating machinery, quality control, packing, and maintaining production standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manufacture a range of products using cartoning machinery, guillotines, flow wrapping, strip bottle machines, rotary guillotines, label printers, dispensing equipment, and saturating machinery.
  • Perform all manual packing, boxing, and labelling tasks accurately.
  • Inspect and document product quality as per production procedures.
  • Maintain a tidy and compliant 6S standard in the workspace.
  • Operate mechanical aids (e.g., pallet trucks) safely.
  • Adhere to Quality Assurance requirements, ensuring processes are updated correctly.
  • Upskill through training and assist co-workers in reaching competency.
  • Deputise for supervisors when requested.
  • Support lean manufacturing initiatives to achieve business goals.
  • Represent Steris’ professional image at all times.
  • Act proactively and support cross-departmental production needs.

Experience & Qualifications

Required:

  • Experience in production machine operation (preferred but not essential).
  • GCSE standard education (or equivalent) or 1+ year of manufacturing environment experience.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to use word processing/quality documentation.
  • Strong attention to detail and self-motivation.
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team.
  • Commitment to health and safety guidelines.
  • Capacity to perform repetitive tasks efficiently under production targets.
