CNC Machinist
Job Location: Ruston Works, Lincoln
A Snapshot of Your Day
Join our team at Siemens Energy as a skilled and experienced CNC Machinist! In this role, you will set up and operate a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts, collaborating closely with production and engineering teams to ensure the highest quality standards. Your expertise will be central to driving manufacturing excellence and operational success.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Set up and operate manual and CNC machine tools (e.g., lathes, horizontal borers, grinders) to produce high-precision components.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, layouts, and specifications to plan machining operations effectively.
- Measure and inspect completed parts to detect defects and ensure compliance with manufacturing documentation.
- Perform routine machine and equipment maintenance to maintain optimal performance.
- Work with production and engineering teams to troubleshoot and resolve machining challenges.
- Maintain a clean, organized workspace while adhering to health and safety procedures.
- Document and report production data, including quantities, dimensions, and deviations from specifications for accuracy.

- A recognised Level 3 apprenticeship (NVQ Level 3 or technical certificate in relevant engineering preferred).
- Proven machinist experience in a high-precision manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in operating machines such as lathes, horizontal borers, and grinders.
- Strong engineering knowledge and attention to detail for interpreting drawings and specifications.
- Keen measurement accuracy to maintain quality standards.
- Excellent communication skills for collaborative teamwork.
- Basic computer literacy for reporting and documentation.
- An engineering mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.

You’ll be part of our Gas Services division, which specialises in low-emission power generation via services and decarbonisation. Our team designs solutions for zero or low-emission power, integrating all gas turbines, steam turbines, and generators. We excel through modernisation, digitalisation, and fleet optimisation, ensuring sustainable energy solutions.
