We are seeking experienced Machinists – 2nd Shift to further their skills and development. This role involves operating automatic and/or manual equipment to manufacture materials according to operating procedures, including inspecting equipment and its components prior to operation.
About the Department
The Machinist is a critical role in Manufacturing, operating within a culture that prioritises teamwork and workplace safety, including collaborative efforts across operational activities.
Your Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain lathe and milling machines
- Review drawings, instructions, blueprints, or samples to ensure accurate production
- Take precise measurements for cutting or shaping
- Plan the optimal sequence of tasks to complete assignments efficiently
- Monitor production, adjusting feed rates and settings as necessary
- Inspect output to ensure quality assurance, documenting or discarding any defects
- Identify and address maintenance needs while performing minor repairs
- Maintain a safe and clean workstation
- Assist the team by undertaking additional related tasks as required

What You Bring
- Excellent coordination and mechanical skills
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and adherence to safety protocols
- Clear communication (written and verbal) skills
- Proficient in mathematics and technical calculations
- Basic computer literacy
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform repetitive tasks
- Prior experience operating CNC lathes and/or CNC mills
Education and Experience Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Hands-on experience with machine tools or mechanical assembly
- Working knowledge of operational safety protocols
- Apprenticeship or vocational training preferred
