Macro Portfolio Optimization Vice President – Relationship Banking Portfolio
Join us as a Macro Portfolio Optimization Vice President
You will deliver ongoing lifecycle management and transaction structuring, validation, and execution activities across the Relationship Banking Portfolio within the Private Finance Banking Book.
Your role will involve:
- Developing and executing structured transactions
- Collaborating with clients, coverage bankers, external advisors, and teams across NatWest Markets and Corporate & Institutional to achieve client and C&I objectives
- Enabling significant variation in work while expanding your senior leadership network
Key Responsibilities
- Transaction Execution & Management
Coordinate with Coverage/Sales and Trading & Portfolio Management (across the UK, US, and EU) to execute:
- Lending transactions
- Risk mitigation trades
- Portfolio optimisation strategies Aim to support clients while aligning with internal resource budgets and financial objectives.

European Transaction Leadership Act as the subject matter expert in structuring European transactions, ensuring rigorous monitoring of asset performance and deal-by-deal compliance. Identify and escalate any red flags where required.

Lifecycle Event Activities Support transaction execution through:
- Coordination of internal approvals
- Negotiation with clients
- Organisation of documentation

Risk & Financial Analysis
- Analyse and review potential transactions, assessing:
- Key risks associated with lending products and structures
- Quantitative evaluation and scenario calculations
- Develop proposals, ideas, and structures for risk and capital management in collaboration with:
- Client-facing teams
- Trading & Portfolio Management
- Syndicate
- Actively align proposals with NatWest Markets' risk appetite.
- Analyse and review potential transactions, assessing:

Skills & Experience Required
Must-Have Qualifications & Knowledge
- Proven experience in a front office or middle office role, including:
- Origination or portfolio management of banking book loans
- Comprehensive knowledge of:
- Lending products
- Loan market technicalities
- Banking regulations
Key Competencies
- Strong risk and control discipline knowledge
- Excellent quantitative and analytical skills
- Clear, effective communication skills
- High attention to detail in a complex environment
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and priorities in a fast-paced setting
