Key Responsibilities
Development
- Design, develop, and maintain tools and utilities for IBM Parallel Sysplex environments
- Develop automation scripts and system utilities using:
- REXX
- JCL
- LCOBOL
- LPL/ (they preferred)
- Assembler (preferred)
- Build and support utilities for:
- System monitoring
- Workload balancing
- Batch automation
- Resource sharing
- Operational support
- Work with Sysplex technologies including:
- XC Coupling Facility
- JES2/JES3
- RACF
- FSDS
- FMR/SM
- Support integrations with DB2, CICS, IMS, MQ, and related mainframe subsystems

Testing
- Design and execute:
- Functional testing
- Integration testing
- Regression testing
- Failover testing
- Performance testing
- Validate Sysplex high-availability and disaster recovery capabilities
- Perform testing for cross-system communication and workload distribution
- Analyze system logs, dumps, traces, and RMF/SMF reports
- Support automated testing and validation of Sysplex utilities and operational tools
- Identify defects, conduct root cause analysis, and coordinate remediation activities

Production Support & Operations
- Provide Level 2 / Level 3 support for Sysplex tools and applications
- Troubleshoot:
- Sysplex communication failures
- Coupling Facility issues
- JES failures
- Performance bottlenecks
- Batch processing failures
- Support production deployments, release management, and maintenance activities
- Participate in DR drills, business continuity testing, and system upgrades

Skills
