Maintenance and Contract Manager – Yorkshire – £50,000 to £55,000 pa

Full-time, permanent role (37.5 hrs/week) – 34 days leave + family-friendly policies

📍 Location: Yorkshire-based, with a hybrid working model (2 days in office, the rest remote + site visits)

As Maintenance and Contract Manager, you’ll lead contractor relationships, resolve disputes, and drive operational improvements—helping residents live in homes they’re proud of. This is a leader role where your influence shapes new projects, ensures value for money, and supports a people-centred approach.


What You’ll Do

  • Lead contractor relationships to deliver exceptional customer outcomes
  • Manage disputes and complaints, prioritising resolution and tenant satisfaction
  • Drive performance across your team and projects, ensuring deadlines and budgets are met
  • Support new developments and continuous improvement in how we deliver maintenance and contracts
  • Work closely with stakeholders (contractors, team leaders, residents) to uphold high standards

Position Requirements

Qualifications & Experience

✅ Degree-level qualification in:

  • Building Surveying (ACS/RIBA or CIOB accreditation)
  • Civil Engineering or related discipline ✅ Proven expertise in:
  • Housing, building legislation, contracts and compliance
  • Managing contractors, disputes and contracts (inclement weather, commercial agreements, etc.)
  • Performance improvement by data-driven decision-making ✅ People management – Experience leading and fostering high-performing teams

Key Competencies

  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
  • Commitment to customer-focused solutions and dispute resolution
  • Proactive problem-solving and adaptability

Practical Details

  • Working arrangements:
    • Monday to Friday, core hours 08:30–16:30 with built-in flexibility
    • Hybrid working: 2 office days/week, distance sites, and home working
  • Equipment/Requirements:
    • Personal motor vehicle providable on outside insurance (company covers mileage)
    • Basic DBS check (funded by Home Group)
