Maintenance Assistant

Maintenance Assistant – Fromefield Manor School

Fromefield Manor School are recruiting a Maintenance Assistant to join our dedicated maintenance team.

We’re looking for a passionate and skilled handyperson with a keen interest in maintenance, DIY and facilities upkeep. In this role, you’ll be responsible for addressing day-to-day reactive maintenance issues across the school site and grounds, helping to ensure a safe and well-maintained environment for our students and staff.

You’ll also:

  • Raise jobs for maintenance and equipment repairs
  • Arrange maintenance of equipment and vehicles
  • Liaise with contractors (on and off-site)
  • Respond to ad-hoc requests from management
  • Manage both planned and reactive maintenance tasks to support the smooth operation of our facilities

About Fromefield Manor School

Fromefield Manor School is a newly opened SEN school (September 2024) in central Frome, specialising in supporting up to 30 pupils aged 11–19 with autism and associated complex needs. Emphasising a total communication approach and bespoke learning plans, we ensure every student receives the care, attention, and resources they need to achieve their personal goals.

Given our recent expansion, we’re proudly a ‘Good’ Ofsted-rated school with a thriving team culture. Scenarios reflect ‘those hard-working members of staff who truly care’, in a wonderful Sealed for Special Awards-winning location.
