The Person
We are currently looking for a Maintenance Engineer/Assistant to join our fun and dynamic team. This role is mobile and you will be assisting the maintenance manager from our properties Point A Paddington, Kensington, Canary Wharf and Waterloo.
The applicant will need to have a proven record and experience in delivering well maintained and safe environments, being the first point of contact and accountable for reactive and planned maintenance tasks within the hotel.
This role reports to the hotel manager and maintenance manager but is also supported by a cluster maintenance manager and an experienced and knowledgeable support team from around the estate.
The working pattern is rota-based working 40 hours per week including weekends.
Hands-on experience in solving maintenance issues in a guest-focused environment is essential.
Having experience in managing a varied subcontract team in delivering first-time cost-effective solutions is also a key attribute to this role.
Areas of responsibility
- Working closely with the Front Desk and Housekeeping teams to carry out reactive maintenance tasks.
- Work with our computerized planned maintenance and compliance platform.
- Effectively prioritize workload.
- Maintain a healthy and safe environment for our guests and team members.

Examples of tasks and duties that need to be undertaken include:
- AC filter cleaning
- Descaling (showers and taps)
- Silicone and grouting
- Like for like electrical repairs
- Plumbing duties (sink tap, mixer, trap repairs)
- Water temperature checks
- Daily building compliance checks
- Monthly, Quarterly and Annual PPMs
- Reactive tasks and repairs (complaints, housekeeping and front desk)
- Taking receipt of deliveries/storing
- Contractor sign-in (permit to work)
