Maintenance Assistant
Location: Edinburgh (Mobile role, covering multiple sites) Salary: Up to £31,000
CBW has opened a new opportunity for an experienced Maintenance Assistant to join a leading facilities provider in Edinburgh. This role involves carrying out essential repairs across multiple locations, including:
- Basic repairs – Plumbing, joining, and electrical work
Key Responsibilities
- Plumbing duties:
- Fix taps, toilets, and clear blockages
- Joinery tasks:
- Fit shelves, hang pictures, and install locks
- Electrical assistance:
- Replace lamps and support installations (minor)
- Contractor management:
- Supervise external contractors (ensuring RAMS and site procedures adherence)
- Materials and tools:
- Manage supplies and equipment for maintenance tasks
- Reporting and compliance:
- Update progress to the helpdesk and scheduling teams
- Ensure buildings remain compliant, functional, and safe

Person Specification
Applicants should have:
- 2-3 years’ experience in multi-skilled facilities maintenance
- Working knowledge of:
- General repairs
- Basic plumbing, joinery, and electrical work
- IT proficiency (able to update maintenance records)
- Preference given for:
- CSCS card or IOSH certification (or equivalent)
- Strong Health & Safety awareness
- Problem-solving skills, ability to work under pressure, and professional time management
- A team player with a proactive attitude
