Maintenance Co-ordinator
We are looking for a highly organised and proactive Maintenance Co-ordinator to join our dedicated Maintenance team at Hillhouse.
This is a key role focused on the detailed planning, preparation and scheduling of preventative, predictive and corrective maintenance tasks across the site. Working closely with Team Leaders, technicians, production teams, contractors and suppliers, you will help ensure maintenance activity is delivered safely, efficiently and with minimal impact on production.
You’ll play an important part in maximising plant operating efficiency by ensuring the right internal and external resources, materials and work packages are in place at the right time.
What you’ll be doing
In this role, you will:
- Plan, prepare and schedule maintenance resources across the Hillhouse site, including routine preventative, predictive and corrective maintenance tasks.
- Work with production teams to agree suitable windows for maintenance activity, helping to minimise disruption and maximise asset availability.
- Co-ordinate internal and external resources, including maintenance technicians, specialist contractors and suppliers.
- Support the safe and effective delivery of work during normal operations, campaign changes, plant shutdowns and other focused maintenance events.
- Prioritise tasks and resources, monitor performance and escalate issues where expectations cannot be met or conflicts cannot be resolved.
- Identify and manage risks to support safe and efficient maintenance delivery.
- Work with technicians and contractors to develop detailed work packages for both routine and outage-based maintenance activity.
- Support preparation of materials and physical resources, including the use of kitting boxes where appropriate.
- Use Continuous Improvement techniques to improve work package content, planning accuracy and data quality within the CMMS.
- Help maintain strong communication and engagement with key stakeholders including customers, technicians, suppliers and contractors.
- Develop and maintain KPIs to demonstrate planning effectiveness, including asset availability, work backlog and resource utilisation.
What we’re looking for
We’re looking for someone who brings strong planning capability, attention to detail and the confidence to co-ordinate multiple priorities in a busy manufacturing environment.
You’ll ideally have:
- Experience of working with planning software, preferably a Computerised Maintenance Management System/CMMS or similar.
- Previous experience in a maintenance, production, manufacturing, planning or scheduling role.
- Experience working within an upper or lower tier COMAH facility.
- Awareness of hazardous area environments.
- Good knowledge of project and risk management in a manufacturing or related environment.
- Awareness of regulatory requirements such as LOLER, PUWER, PSSR and EAWR.
- A strong understanding of Safety, Health and Environment requirements and safe systems of work.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing, Total Productive Maintenance or Continuous Improvement processes.
- Experience developing, defining and tracking maintenance plans over longer-term timeframes.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
