This is a dynamic role managing multiple store locations, where you will coordinate day-to-day repairs, oversee contractor performance, track budgets, and respond swiftly to emergency maintenance requests to ensure minimal disruption to store operations.

- Contractor Management: Schedule repairs with approved contractors and vendors, monitor their performance, and verify that the quality of completed work meets company standards.
- Facility Oversight: Monitor the condition of vital building systems (including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, lighting, and fixtures) and coordinate the procurement of maintenance materials when required.
- Compliance & Safety: Conduct regular store inspections to identify maintenance issues, ensuring all activities strictly comply with health, safety, and regulatory requirements.
- Budgeting & Documentation: Assist in preparing and managing maintenance budgets to control costs, while maintaining meticulous service logs, warranties, and asset documentation.
- Project Support: Respond promptly to urgent or emergency repairs and support broader store openings, renovations, relocations, and refurbishment projects.
- Reporting: Prepare maintenance updates, work order metrics, and performance reports for management, offering recommendations to improve facility reliability and efficiency.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
