Contract: Government
Location: Huntingdon and Cambridgeshire with travel to Norwich, Great Yarmouth and Kings Lynn
Salary: £43,000 + £2,000 AP Allowance + Company Diesel Van
Hours: Monday - Friday | 8am-5pm + No On-Call | No Overtime Required
We're recruiting for an experienced Electrician / Authorised Person (Low Voltage) to join a dedicated engineering team supporting a prestigious Government contract.
Job Description
This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified electrician looking for genuine work-life balance. You'll support a portfolio of government buildings across the South East and East Anglia.
This is a multi-skilled maintenance role, with approximately 50% of your workload focused on electrical maintenance and Authorised Person (Low Voltage) responsibilities, and the remaining 50% involving general building maintenance including basic plumbing, building fabric repairs, minor mechanical works, and HVAC support.

Key Responsibilities
- Deliver planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive electrical maintenance across multiple commercial sites.
- Carry out electrical fault finding, repairs, minor installations, and testing.
- Undertake Authorised Person (Low Voltage) duties in accordance with electrical safety rules and safe systems of work.
- Issue and manage Permits to Work and supervise specialist contractors.
- Complete multi-skilled maintenance tasks including basic plumbing, building fabric repairs, doors, ceilings, flooring, and minor mechanical works.
- Support basic HVAC maintenance and plant inspections.
- Complete compliance documentation and service reports accurately.
- Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with Health & Safety legislation and company procedures.
- Deliver a high standard of customer service across all client sites.
Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications
- Experience carrying out planned & reactive maintenance - multi-skilled.
- 18th Edition + NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds in Electrical Installation.
- ECS Card / JIB Gold Card.
- Current Authorised Person (Low Voltage) status (or willing to go through training).
- Full UK Driving Licence (No more than 6 points).
- Inspection & Testing (2394/2395) - ideally.
