Role Type: Permanent
Salary: £58,000 - £60,000 OTE with overtime and call-out
Shift Pattern: Days Based, Monday to Friday (Flexible Start and Finish Times) + 24/7 On-Call Rotation (2 Weeks in Every 8)
Location: Cheltenham

We are currently recruiting for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer on behalf of our client, a well-established industrial manufacturing facility based in the Cheltenham area.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer looking for a stable days-based position within a supportive working environment, offering strong earning potential and genuine technical development opportunities.

What you'll be doing:

  • Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across heavy industrial manufacturing plant.
  • Fault finding and repairing both small and large-scale mechanical systems.
  • Stripping, servicing and rebuilding a variety of mechanical equipment and machinery.
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the facility.
  • Assisting with fabrication, fitting and installation projects.
  • Working as part of the on-call rota, providing 24/7 engineering cover for two weeks in every eight.
  • Maintaining high standards of safety, reliability and operational performance throughout the site.
  • Supporting maintenance activities across steam, boiler and utility systems where required.

What we need from you:

  • Minimum of 5 years' post-apprenticeship maintenance experience.
  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in a Mechanical Engineering discipline.
  • Previous experience within an industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills on mechanical systems and heavy industrial plant.
  • Experience carrying out mechanical overhauls, rebuilds and servicing work.
  • Fabrication and fitting experience.
  • Electrical maintenance skills or fully multi-skilled capability would be highly advantageous.
  • Industrial steam and boiler experience would be beneficial (BOAS qualification desirable but can be achieved on site).
  • Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to maintenance.

What we offer:

  • Basic salary of £49,500 - £51,500
  • Typical annual earnings of £58,000 - £60,000 through overtime and call-out payments
  • Initial salary starts £2,000 lower until joining the on-call rota (typically achieved within 3-6 months)
  • 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays
