ROLE: Multi Skilled Engineer

PAY RATE: £22.05 Per Hour PAYE

CONTRACT TYPE: 3-month contract (Potential For Extension)

LOCATION: Birmingham, B15

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive repairs, testing and fault finding across the site.
  • Ensure all maintenance work is completed safely, on time and in line with HTM standards, statutory regulations and company KPIs.
  • Use CAFM systems to manage and maintain accurate maintenance records.
  • Respond to breakdowns and emergency repairs, ensuring SLA response times are met.
  • Interpret technical drawings and carry out repairs and installations independently.
  • Maintain workshops, tools and equipment in a clean and safe condition.
  • Support condition surveys, lifecycle planning and overall plant performance.
  • Work across multiple buildings and facilities as required.
  • Work safely in critical environments while following all health and safety procedures.
  • Support the Estates Management team and stakeholders to ensure the smooth operation of engineering services.

Essential Requirements:

  • Recognised engineering apprenticeship or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience in healthcare or PFI maintenance environments.
  • Relevant City & Guilds Mechanical or Electrical qualifications.
  • Good knowledge of HTMs, Health & Safety legislation and maintenance compliance.
  • Experience using CAFM or other digital maintenance management systems.
  • Strong fault-finding, communication and problem-solving skills.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • HNC/HND, ONC or Degree in Engineering.
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
  • City & Guilds 2394/2395 Inspection & Testing.
  • Authorised Person (AP) qualifications (LV/HV, MGPS, Ventilation or Mechanical Systems).
  • IOSH/NEBOSH, IPAF and Confined Space certification.
  • Minimum 5 years' LV/HV experience.
