Maintenance Engineer (Multi-Skilled) : Permanent Nights
Location: Just North of Peterborough (Commutable from Stamford, Spalding, Bourne, and Market Deeping)
Salary: GBP £53,000 package (base £47,000 + £6,000 night shift allowance)
Shift: Sunday to Thursday, 22:00 – 06:00 Position: Full-Time, Permanent

About the Role
We are a leading manufacturing business located just north of Peterborough, looking to welcome a skilled Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to our dedicated night shift team. Offering a true 50/50 electrical and mechanical split, this role is perfect for an engineer who loves variety and engineering excellence.
Compensation & Working Conditions

Key Responsibilities
As our Night Maintenance Engineer, you will be the go-to expert on shift, ensuring production downtime is kept to an absolute minimum. Your day-to-day duties include:
- Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and responding swiftly to reactive breakdowns.
- Diagnosing and fault-finding on:
- Electrical systems (PLCs, control panels, three-phase motors)
- Mechanical machinery (conveyors, hydraulics, pneumatics, gearboxes)
- Contributing to continuous improvement projects, optimising machinery efficiency and safety.
- Maintaining accurate shift logs and handovers.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Must be an apprentice-trained engineer with relevant qualifications, such as:
- NVQ Level 3
- City & Guilds
- Or an equivalent recognised certification
Skills & Experience:
- A true multi-skilled background with a 50/50 split in mechanical and electrical skills.
- Demonstrable confidence in wiring motors and changing bearings.
- Previous experience in a fast-paced manufacturing, FMCG, or automated production environment (highly desirable).
- Strong autonomy and ability to work independently during night shifts.
