Maintenance Engineer (Mechanical or Electrical)

Location: Poole, Dorset
Salary: £52,000 - £54,000 per annum
Shift Pattern: Continental Days & Nights

Are you a Maintenance Engineer looking to join a manufacturer that's genuinely investing in its engineering function?

The Role

As part of a skilled engineering team, you'll be responsible for maintaining a wide range of automated manufacturing and packaging equipment, helping to maximise plant reliability and minimise downtime.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across production machinery.
  • Responding to breakdowns and carrying out electrical and/or mechanical fault finding.
  • Repairing and maintaining electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Using the site's CMMS to record maintenance activities, manage assets, and support planned maintenance.
  • Supporting reliability and continuous improvement initiatives to improve equipment performance and reduce downtime.
  • Working closely with production and engineering colleagues to maintain a safe, efficient manufacturing environment.

What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience as a Maintenance Engineer within a manufacturing, production, or FMCG environment.
  • Strong electrical and/or mechanical fault-finding skills.
  • Experience working with PLC-controlled and automated machinery (Siemens, Allen Bradley, or similar).
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and schematics.
  • Apprentice trained, NVQ Level 3, or equivalent engineering qualification.
  • A proactive engineer who enjoys solving problems and contributing to continuous improvement.
