Maintenance Engineer – Aggregate and Asphalt Division
FM Conway is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to join our growing Aggregate and Asphalt division, playing a crucial role in maintaining the reliability and efficiency of our asphalt manufacturing plants.
This is a full-time, permanent role.
About FM Conway
With over 15 years’ experience producing high-quality asphalt across seven successful plants in the South of England, FM Conway is now expanding into the Midlands. Our eighth production site in Wellingborough is scheduled to open in 2027, and we’re searching for a skilled Maintenance Engineer to help establish engineering standards and operational excellence from day one.
As a fast-growing business built on Care, Innovation, Integrity, and Excellence, we’re proud to lead the way in sustainable transportation solutions. Our Aggregate and Asphalt division recycling highways arisings into valued construction materials, including Recycled Asphalt Product (RAP), reinvests in regional capabilities to support London and Southern England.
The Role
You’ll thrill to the challenge of setting the tone for a brand-new team and plant. Initially seconded to our established Southeast sites, you’ll receive tailored training, induction, and mentoring to develop consistent operational standards before stepping into a leading role at Wellingborough.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
