Job Description

Maintenance Engineer

GE Vernova is looking for an exceptional Maintenance Engineer to join our Field Services team based in the United Kingdom.

GE Vernova - The Energy to Change the World

With over 130 years of experience and proven innovation, GE Vernova is leading a new era of energy. We are electrifying the world while working to decarbonize it. Our name reflects our mission. “GE” carries a legacy of quality and ingenuity. “Ver” signals Earth’s lush ecosystems, while “Nova” nods to a new era of lower-carbon energy we are helping to deliver.

Focused on the future, GE Vernova is accelerating the shift to reliable, affordable, and sustainable energy. We help customers power economies and deliver electricity vital to health, safety, and quality of life.

Power

Our Power portfolio provides sustainable, more efficient energy solutions. With expertise across Gas, Hydro, Nuclear, and Steam Power, we help customers deliver electricity to homes, industries, and communities worldwide.

Let’s Talk About The Role

The Maintenance Engineer will ensure the safe, reliable and high-performance operation of utility-scale Battery Energy Storage Systems by delivering expert maintenance, troubleshooting and technical support across installed assets.

You will play a key role in maintaining and optimising GE Vernova’s advanced Battery Energy Storage Systems, supporting customers who rely on these technologies to drive energy efficiency and decarbonisation. Working hands-on with electrical systems, power-conversion equipment and energy-storage technologies, you will carry out preventive and corrective maintenance, diagnose system issues, and ensure all work meets strict performance, reliability and safety standards. As part of a business that supports major energy, maritime and industrial organisations, you will help safeguard the long-term health of critical assets while contributing to the wider transition toward cleaner, more efficient power solutions.

Your Impact

  • Execute critical maintenance procedures — carrying out preventive and corrective maintenance on BESS assets including BMS, inverters, switchgear and SCADA interfaces to ensure safe, reliable system performance.
  • Apply OEM-aligned technical standards - performing maintenance and testing activities strictly in line with OEM manuals, procedures and engineering documentation.
  • Diagnose and resolve system issues - identifying faults across electrical, control and communication systems and implementing effective troubleshooting to restore optimal operation.
  • Conduct essential testing and verification - completing point-to-point checks, insulation resistance tests and other verification tasks to validate system integrity.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and reporting - preparing detailed maintenance records, technical reports, job status updates and customer-facing documentation with precision and clarity.
  • Collaborate across project and site teams - coordinating with commissioning leads, project managers and subcontractors to ensure maintenance activities support project goals and performance standards.
  • Champion safety, quality and asset protection - adhering to all EHS policies, safeguarding company equipment and IP, and contributing to the improvement of engineering standards, method statements and risk assessments.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
