Maintenance Engineer – Nottingham – Full-Time

The Role

Full-Time, On-Site Maintenance Engineer – Nottingham Headquarters

As our Maintenance Engineer, you will ensure the reliable, efficient, and safe operation of our facility equipment, building systems, and production machinery. This hands-on role requires diagnosing faults, carrying out mechanical and electrical repairs, and maintaining stringent standards to support our mission-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on all facility and production equipment.
  • Diagnose and carry out mechanical and electrical repairs, including troubleshooting vehicle faults.
  • Lead and coordinate servicing schedules for vehicles and equipment, ensuring alignment with operational needs.
  • Maintain detailed maintenance records and asset management systems.
  • Respond swiftly to emergency and none-emergency maintenance requests to minimise downtime.
  • Support equipment installations, upgrades, and modifications in line with operational and safety requirements.
  • Collaborate with operations, facilities, and health & safety teams to uphold a clean, safe, and high-performing workspace.
  • Drive continuous improvement in asset performance, energy efficiency, and maintenance processes.
  • Liaise with external service partners and suppliers to ensure timely, cost-effective repairs.

What We’re Looking For

Essential Qualifications & Experience

✔ Proven experience in mechanical and electrical maintenance, including fault finding, repair, and preventive maintenance on facility and production equipment.

✔ Practical knowledge of building services and utilities (e.g., HVAC, plumbing, basic electrics) with the ability to use tools and materials safely.

✔ Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritise tasks in a fast-paced, growth-focused environment.

✔ Familiarity with maintenance planning, record-keeping, and using computer-based maintenance/asset management systems (e.g., Maximo, IFS/PlantOffice).

✔ Understanding of health & safety practices, including risk assessments, safe working systems, and compliance with relevant regulations (e.g., LOLER, PUWER, COSHH).

✔ Effective communication and teamwork, with the ability to collaborate across operations, facilities, and leadership teams.

Desirable Skills & Experience

✔ Engineering or maintenance qualifications (e.g., BTEC, NVQ Level 2-3 in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering). ✔ Hands-on experience as a vehicle mechanic (police, military, or commercial sectors) – a plus. ✔ Experience in a production or warehousing environment with a focus on equipment maintenance. ✔ Knowledge of asset renewal or replacement strategies to improve efficiency.
