Maintenance Engineer
Electrical Maintenance Engineer
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join our Engineering team, reporting directly to the Engineering Shift Manager. You will be responsible for maintaining the overall performance and reliability of plant, machinery, and electrical installations across our manufacturing facility.

Key Responsibilities
- Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) activities and ensure electrical contractor service inspections are completed as per the maintenance schedule and service contracts.
- Ensure all statutory electrical inspections are completed on time and log/address any remedial actions with the Site Services Department.
- Manage external contractors—issue permits to work for electrical activities and actively monitor contractor performance.
- Diagnose and repair electrical faults promptly to minimise downtime.
- Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) on equipment failures and implement corrective and preventative measures.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives and best practices.
- Liaise with external specialists and contractors to resolve technical issues effectively.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping, hygiene, and cleanliness across engineering areas.
- Ensure compliance with SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures), safety, and quality standards.
- Escalate any matters impacting health and safety, environmental compliance, or product quality.
- Clarify and coordinate planned engineering activities across departments.

Essential Skills & Experience
- Minimum 5 years’ post-qualification experience in a similar maintenance engineering role.
- Proven experience within Pharmaceutical or FMCG manufacturing.
- Strong working knowledge of PLC systems (Siemens), panel wiring, and troubleshooting techniques, including single-phase and three-phase electrical installations.
- Ability to work independently, make efficient decisions, and uphold colleague safety and operational standards.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and technical expertise.
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Experience in PLC troubleshooting and ladder logic diagnosis.
- Mechanical logic appreciation.
Qualifications
Essential
- Time-served apprenticeship or equivalent experience with relevant certification.
- City & Guilds qualifications, including:
- 2382 (17th Edition Wiring Regulations)
- 2393 (Part P)
- 2365 (Electrical Installations)
- Currently working towards the above credentials.

Shift Pattern
- Working hours: 6:00 AM–2:00 PM / 2:00 PM–10:00 PM (rotating shifts + 1 off every 5th Friday)
