Maintenance Engineer (Days)

Location: Thirsk, North Yorkshire, YO7

Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 per annum

Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

Flexible Working Pattern Of Either

  • 4 x 10-hour days, or
  • 5 x 8-hour days.

Where the 4-day week is selected, the engineering team will coordinate and agree individual days off.

Commutable from: York, Thirsk, Ripon, Middlesborough, Boroughbridge, Harrogate, Knaresborough

The Role

Hawk 3 Talent Solutions are seeking a Maintenance Engineer to provide engineering support to a busy production team within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring plant and equipment reliability through planned, preventative and reactive maintenance activities. The successful candidate will be proactive, safety-focused and capable of working both independently and as part of a collaborative engineering team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned, preventative and corrective maintenance activities in line with maintenance schedules and systems.
  • Investigate equipment issues, perform root cause analysis and implement effective solutions.
  • Support production and quality teams with technical and process-related issues.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and ensure documentation is kept up to date.
  • Provide detailed breakdown reports and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Adhere to all Health & Safety policies and procedures.

Essential Requirements

  • Time-served engineering qualification.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a maintenance engineering role.
  • Good working knowledge of pneumatic and electrical control systems.
  • Experience with product transfer systems, including elevators, drag-chain and auger feed systems.
  • Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills.
  • Good organisational and time management abilities.
  • Ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team.
  • Comfortable working within a fast-paced production environment.
  • Flexible, adaptable and highly motivated approach.

Desirable Skills

  • Previous experience within a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Mechanical bias.
