Maintenance Engineer

Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer

Ross-On-Wye Shift Pattern: 4-on, 4-off (Days/Nights) Salary: £51,000 – £54,000 per annum

About the Role

This successful business, a prominent and well-established player in their industry, delivers high-quality products nationwide. They are seeking a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join their expanding team.


Key Responsibilities

Technical Duties

  • Identifying failure modes of plant and equipment, then returning it to safe operation within a reasonable timescale.
  • Diagnosing and repairing equipment breakdowns promptly.
  • Liaising with the engineering day team to identify and resolve long-term engineering issues.
  • Using the maintenance management system to:
    • Locate and manage spare parts
    • Retrieve and return spares to stores
  • Assessing electrical equipment failures, then recommending preventive measures to avoid recurrence.
  • Granting/maintaining maintenance schedules via the system and accurately recording work completion via notifications.

Preventive & Collaborative Work

  • Carrying out preventive maintenance routines.
  • Collaborating with Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineers teams to ensure Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) is completed per schedule.

Requirements

Essential Qualifications & Experience

  • Significant experience in a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer role (preferably in manufacturing).
  • Apprenticeship completed as a Maintenance Engineer (formal training validated).
  • NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical OR Electrical Engineering (or equivalent City & Guilds, HNC certification).

Core Skills

  • Drive, enthusiasm, and self-motivation, with the ability to motivate others.
  • Proven ability to thrive under pressure while maintaining accuracy.
  • Timely and accurate reporting skills.
  • Working knowledge of good engineering practices.
