Maintenance Engineer – Larkhall Logistics Facility
Do you want to play a key role in keeping a high-performance logistics operation running safely and efficiently? Are you a hands-on engineer who enjoys solving problems, maintaining equipment, and improving site performance? If so, you could be the newest addition to our team as a Maintenance Engineer in Larkhall.

About The Role
As a Maintenance Engineer, you’ll be responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of all site infrastructure across our Larkhall logistics facility. This includes:
- Refrigerated warehousing
- Yard assets
- Office facilities
You’ll deliver both planned maintenance and rapid response repairs, helping to protect operational continuity.
Responsibilities
You will be responsible for:

Delivering planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across:
- Refrigeration systems
- Material handling equipment (MHE)
- Lighting
- Building infrastructure

Diagnosing and resolving breakdowns quickly to minimise operational disruption

Supporting refrigeration systems and coordinating with external refrigeration contractors

Maintaining:
- Dock levellers
- Roller doors
- Bay equipment
- Safety systems

Overseeing yard and trailer park infrastructure, including:
- Lighting
- Barrier systems
- Hard standing areas

Ensuring compliance with statutory requirements:
- LOLER (Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations)
- PUWER (Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations)
- F-Gas
- Health & Safety (H&S)

Maintaining accurate records

Driving continuous improvement

Managing spare parts

Prioritising maintenance in collaboration with operations teams
Requirements
You’ll be a time-served engineer or hold an equivalent qualification in:
- Mechanical engineering
- Electrical engineering
- Multiskilled engineering
Key skills and experiences include:
- Strong fault-finding ability across mechanical and electrical systems
- Experience in facilities or industrial environments
- Knowledge of refrigeration systems and chilled environments (advantageous)
Personal attributes:
✔ Proactive, safety-first approach – identify issues early and take ownership ✔ Organised and disciplined – manage workload while maintaining records ✔ Strong communication skills – work with contractors, warehouse teams, and management ✔ Calm, solutions-focused mindset – adept at handling urgent issues in live operations
