Maintenance Engineer
Location: North London
Salary: £55,000 - £58,000
Working Pattern: 4 on, 4 off, 6 and back 6 (4 days / 4 nights)
About the Role
Gap Technical is representing a leading FMCG/food manufacturing business in its search for Maintenance Engineers to join a modern production facility near North London.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond promptly and effectively to equipment breakdowns to minimise disruption to production.
- Conduct planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and implement corrective actions for recurring faults.
- Prioritise maintenance activities within assigned production areas.
- Diagnose faults efficiently using technical documentation and machine history.
- Collaborate with production teams to ensure maximum equipment uptime.
- Support and train operators in basic maintenance tasks; assist with more complex repairs where needed.
- Maintain machinery in compliance with safety, quality, and operational standards.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, focusing on reducing downtime and enhancing reliability.

Candidate Requirements
- Multiskilled engineer with an electrical bias.
- Previous experience in food, FMCG, or packaging manufacturing environments is highly desirable.
- Strong communication, planning, and organisational skills.
- Eligibility to work in the UK.
