Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer
Romsey, Hampshire
£38,000 - £42,500 + Overtime + Bonus
Full-Time | 44 hours per week
Are you a hands-on Maintenance Engineer with strong mechanical and electrical skills? We're working with a well-established manufacturing business in the Romsey area looking to strengthen their engineering team with a Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a busy production environment, supporting the performance and reliability of equipment.
The Role
You'll play a key role in keeping production running efficiently, carrying out both planned maintenance and reactive repairs across a range of specialist machinery.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and respond to breakdowns
- Diagnose and repair faults across electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
- Maintain and troubleshoot extrusion lines and associated downstream equipment
- Support machine set-up, commissioning, and continuous improvement projects
- Work closely with production teams to optimise performance and reduce downtime
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and fault logs
- Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals
- Ensure all work complies with health & safety and environmental standards
- Assist with general site maintenance (lighting, power, basic plumbing)

What We're Looking For
- Recognised Engineering qualification is ideal (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, HNC/HND)
- Proven maintenance experience within manufacturing or automated machinery environments
- Strong fault-finding ability on PLC systems, motors, sensors, and drives
- Good knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment
- Strong understanding of safe working practices

Desirable Skills
- 18th Edition (if electrically biased)
- Experience with PLC fault finding
- Knowledge of Lean, 5S, TPM, or continuous improvement
