Maintenance Engineer

Service Engineer - Nights

Location: Otis Vantage London, 10th Floor, Great West Road, Brentford, TW8 9AG, UK Shift Pattern: Sunday – Thursday 23:00 – 07:00

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced escalator engineer to join our Transport for London team, responsible for maintaining our London Underground escalator portfolio. Your key goal is to ensure the safety of passengers and stakeholders through consistent maintenance and repairs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out breakdown and repair work on escalators across the portfolio to maintain continuous operation
  • Manage escalator maintenance within the London Underground network, ensuring optimal performance
  • Proactively and swiftly resolve technical failures, aiming for first-time fixes
  • Build strong relationships with customers while on-site through direct liaison

Requirements

Successful candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Qualified to at least NVQ Level 3 in Lift/Escalator Engineering, with substantial experience in escalator service and maintenance
  • Capable of working nights (Sunday to Thursday, 11pm–7am)
  • Expertise in a variety of escalator brands and deep understanding of mechanical and electrical systems
  • Valid UK driver’s licence
  • Flexibility for overtime assessment
  • Strong communication skills, adaptability, and ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Proficient in electronic and digital tools
  • Safety-conscious professional with a commitment to high performance
