Multi Skilled Shift Engineer

Location: Frome, Somerset Salary: £52,500 + Bonus + Overtime ** Shift Pattern:** 12-Hour Days & Nights (2-3-2 Rotation)

Yolk Recruitment are supporting a leading manufacturer with the recruitment of a Multi Skilled Shift Engineer for their site near Frome.

The Role

Working within the engineering team, you will be responsible for both reactive and planned maintenance activities across a range of process and packaging equipment, helping to maximise plant reliability and minimise downtime.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Responding to breakdowns and carrying out effective fault finding to return equipment to production.
  • Performing planned preventative maintenance (PM), corrective maintenance, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Supporting process and packaging machinery across the site.
  • Completing work orders and maintaining accurate records using the CMMS system.
  • Assisting with the development and improvement of preventative maintenance schedules.
  • Supporting engineering projects and equipment improvements.
  • Working closely with production teams to maximise machine performance and efficiency.

What We're Looking For

We are keen to speak with engineers who are electrically or mechanically biased, with experience gained within food, FMCG, or general manufacturing environments.

Ideally, you will have:

  • A recognised engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3, HNC, HND, or equivalent).
  • Strong fault-finding skills across electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Experience working on process or packaging machinery.
  • Knowledge of motors, drives, pumps, pneumatics, and automated equipment.
  • Experience using CMMS systems.
  • A proactive approach and the ability to work effectively within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Engineers with a stronger mechanical background who are looking to develop further on the electrical side are also encouraged to apply.
