Manufacturing Engineer (3D Printing/Additive Manufacturing) – York

The Role
We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join our Market 3D Printing Team based in York. This role involves supporting UK factories with the replacement, redesign, and manufacturing of critical components on unique machinery, leveraging advanced software and hardware, including 3D printing technology.
As a 3D Printing / Additive Manufacturing Engineer, you will report to the Market Industrial Services Manager and be responsible for:
- Designing, reverse engineering, and manufacturing components to improve factory asset maintenance and reduce unplanned downtime.
- Operating, maintaining, and optimising 3D printing equipment, as well as post-processing machinery.
- Increasing asset intensity while reducing maintenance costs and scheduling unplanned stops.

Manage Existing Assets (Operation & Maintenance)
- Operate and maintain 3D printing equipment following existing SOPs.
- Manufacture components as per scheduled plans.
- Perform post-processing and hand finishing as required.
Spare Parts Management & Compliance Administration
- Track raw material stock accurately and maintain inventory.
- Monitor stock levels of in-house components, generating production requests as needed.
- Distribute manufactured components across UK sites as required.
- Handle invoicing, quotations, shipping, and distribution of finished components.
Engineering Design
- Support factories in reverse engineering existing components.
- Design new components as required.
- Create both 2D and 3D engineering drawings with proper version control.
- Ensure proper documentation and compliance with file management practices.
Stakeholder & Project Management
- Manage governance and portfolio tracking for a range of UK factories.
- Coordinate and lead the 3D Printing Champion Network, including:
- Competency building and capacity development.
- Reporting and governance routines.
- Liaise with factory and market stakeholders to monitor progress and savings.
- Conduct travel to support site workshops, coaching, and maintenance interventions.
What Success Looks Like – Key Requirements
We’re looking for a detail-oriented Engineer with proven expertise in:
- 3D Printing & Reverse Engineering, leveraging software including:
- Autodesk Inventor, Bambu Lab Ryu, and EIGER.
- Ability to convert physical components into accurate 2D/3D CAD drawings.
- SAP experience (proven track record).
- Strong stakeholder management and project oversight.
- Comfortable with travel and cross-site coordination within Nestlé’s UK site portfolio.
