Job Description
DP World are currently recruiting for a Maintenance Engineer to join our growing Engineering team in Coventry.
This is an exciting opportunity to join our business as we continue to expand our operations. Working within a highly automated warehouse environment, you'll play a key role in ensuring the reliability and performance of our automated systems, supporting operational excellence through proactive maintenance, fault finding, and continuous improvement.
You'll work closely with engineering and operations teams to maximise equipment performance, minimise downtime, and help deliver innovative engineering solutions that support the continued growth of the business.
How You Will Contribute
- Maintain and support the performance of automated warehouse equipment, including AMRs, ASRS, conveyors, and sortation systems.
- Carry out planned and reactive maintenance activities to maximise equipment reliability and minimise operational downtime.
- Diagnose faults, complete root cause analysis, and implement effective corrective actions to improve equipment performance.
- Record maintenance activities accurately using relevant systems and ensure engineering documentation is kept up to date.
- Work closely with Engineering and Operations teams to identify opportunities for continuous improvement across site.
- Support the introduction of new equipment, engineering projects, and operational improvements, including commissioning and process validation.
- Assist with contractor management and infrastructure works to ensure projects are delivered safely and efficiently.
- Promote a strong safety culture by ensuring all engineering activities are carried out in line with company procedures and health and safety legislation.
- Act as a subject matter expert for engineering processes and support the development of engineering best practices across the operation.

What You Will Bring
- Previous experience working as a Maintenance Engineer within an automated warehouse, manufacturing, or production environment.
- Proven experience maintaining automated material handling equipment such as ASRS, AMRs, conveyors, or sortation systems.
- Qualification in an engineering discipline or equivalent hands-on industry experience.
- Experience carrying out fault finding, root cause analysis, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles would be advantageous.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a wider engineering team.
- Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office, with experience using maintenance management systems and engineering software being beneficial.
- A proactive, customer-focused approach with a commitment to safety, quality, and delivering results.
