Maintenance Engineer
Maintenance Engineer – Nestlé Coffee Factory
Business Area: Nestlé UK & Ireland | Location: Tutbury | Salary: circa £48,000 (depending on experience)
About This Role
A full-time key role within the Nestlé Coffee business, our Maintenance Engineer will report directly to the Logistics Manager and cover a defined scope across all factory operations. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a fast-paced, manufacturing environment where plant reliability, cost efficiency, and compliance are critical.

Your Responsibilities
To ensure optimal plant performance, you’ll be responsible for:

Operational Growth & Compliance
- Support the build and implementation of the department’s Operations Maintenance Plan (OMP)
- Ensure full compliance with Nestlé quality policy, including engineering change management
- Develop the PM03 (Predictive Maintenance) structure for Logistics

Plant Reliability & Cost Efficiency
- Drive plant reliability via coordination, coaching, and fixed cost reductions
- Coordinate and implement the departmental maintenance strategy
- Conduct root cause analysis of breakdowns, taking ownership of follow-up actions and rollouts

Your Success depends on:

Qualifications
- Time-served apprenticeship to a minimum of NVQ Level 3/City & Guilds or equivalent

Technical Proficiency
- Multi-skilled with an electrical bias (preferred)
- Previous experience within an FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) engineering function
- Strong hands-on, practical approach with a "can-do" attitude

Team & Leadership Skills
- Ability to work collaboratively while ensuring compliance in safety and quality
- Strong interpersonal skills to challenge, influence, and build capability
- Excellent problem-solving and prioritisation skills
- Can communicate effectively across all levels and work independently

Strategic Knowledge
- Understanding of TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) is essential
- Ability to manage workloads in a fast-paced environment
