This is a hands‑on role where your technical expertise directly contributes to keeping critical plant and equipment running at optimal performance. You’ll be responsible for delivering planned preventative maintenance to a high standard, as well as responding to breakdowns and carrying out repairs, modifications and improvements. By adjusting and installing alternative components and functions, you’ll help prevent downtime and improve efficiency across the site. Working closely with the Maintenance Coordinator, supervisors and operational colleagues, you’ll provide practical engineering support and technical insight. You’ll also help maintain accurate engineering stores, update databases and support the implementation of Cory’s Integrated Management System. You’ll hold a full, valid UK driving licence and be willing to work the rotating shift pattern, including alternate weekends and occasional additional hours for training or operational needs. I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
