Description
Enva is a leading provider of recycling and resource recovery solutions, helping businesses and communities across the UK manage their waste responsibly.
We're looking for a skilled and proactive Maintenance Engineer to join our Engineering team based at our Colwick site.
In this role, you'll play a key part in ensuring our plant and equipment operate safely, efficiently, and reliably. You'll carry out planned preventative maintenance, respond to equipment breakdowns, and support continuous improvement projects to maximise plant availability and minimise downtime.
Working closely with production and operational teams, you'll help maintain a safe working environment while contributing to the ongoing performance and reliability of our recycling operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance on plant, machinery, and equipment.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic faults and carry out repairs.
- Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns to minimise operational downtime.
- Install, commission, and support new equipment and machinery.
- Assist with plant upgrades and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Complete routine inspections, servicing, and testing of equipment.
- Ensure all maintenance work is completed safely and in accordance with company procedures and legislation.
- Complete maintenance records, inspections, and repair documentation accurately.
- Work closely with production and operations teams to plan maintenance activities with minimal disruption.
- Liaise with contractors and equipment suppliers when specialist support is required.
- Promote high standards of housekeeping and health and safety across the site.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
We're looking for an experienced Maintenance Engineer with excellent fault-finding skills and a proactive approach to keeping plant equipment operating at peak performance.
Essential:
- Previous experience in a maintenance engineering role within an industrial, manufacturing, recycling, or similar environment.
- Strong mechanical and/or electrical fault-finding and repair skills.
- Good understanding of hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical manuals.
- Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Strong commitment to health and safety.
- Ability to work independently and prioritise workload effectively.

Desirable:
- Engineering qualification (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent apprenticeship).
- Experience using Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
- IOSH, NEBOSH, or other health and safety qualifications.
- Experience within the waste management or recycling industry.
- Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies.
