Job Title: Lead Shift Maintenance Engineer (Electrical)

We are seeking a highly motivated Electrical Shift Maintenance Engineer to support the delivery of maintenance and engineering activities. The purpose of this role is to lead on necessary breakdown repairs, leading preventative maintenance activity and facilitating the promotion of engineering solutions for process improvement to ensure process availability and productivity are optimised.
What you will Do
- Diagnose and resolve plant faults and breakdowns to minimise production downtime
- Deliver planned maintenance activities in line with engineering standards and schedules
- Maintain plant and ancillary equipment to maximise availability and reliability
- Use the Pirana maintenance system to:
- Raise and manage work orders
- Record defects, root causes and corrective actions
- Support maintenance planning and improvement activities
- Support root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence
- Identify and implement temporary solutions to maintain production where required
- Maintain accurate records of engineering spares and inventory
- Support maintenance and fault finding on overhead cranes and associated equipment
- Promote and drive continuous improvement initiatives across the plant
- Support operators in developing autonomous maintenance practices
- Provide guidance and mentoring to apprentices and new engineers
- Support engineering shift teams with cover for absence, training and holidays
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental and quality standards
- Carry out risk assessments and ensure safe systems of work are followed
- Manage contractor activities in line with permit and control procedures
- Participate in team briefs and performance discussions

What You Will Need
You will be an experienced electrical engineer with strong technical capability and a proactive approach to safety, performance and continuous improvement.
Essential Requirements
- ONC / City & Guilds in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)
- Experience within a manufacturing or heavy industrial environment
- Strong experience in fault finding, maintenance and repair
- Knowledge of preventative maintenance systems and processes
- Experience working with contractors and safe systems of work
- Strong communication and teamworking skills
- Ability to work under pressure and deliver to tight timescales
Technical Skills
- Electrical drives (Siemens, Allen Bradley, Mitsubishi)
- PLC fault finding and interrogation
- AC/DC motor diagnostics
- Electrical systems and safety circuits
- Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings
- Process control system diagnostics
Desirable:
- Overhead crane systems knowledge
- Hydraulics and pneumatics fault finding
- MEWP / FLT / crane operations
- Experience of Pirana or similar maintenance systems
