Hours: Monday - Friday, 7:00am - 3:00pm
Company Overview
We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established manufacturing business seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join its engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity to join a successful operation where you'll play a key role in maintaining equipment reliability, supporting production performance, and driving continuous improvement.
The Role
As a Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for servicing, fault-finding, repairing, and optimising a range of production equipment. Working closely with Production and Engineering teams, you'll help maximise machine uptime, improve operational efficiency, and support ongoing improvement projects across the site.
Key Responsibilities
- Service, maintain, and repair production machinery and associated equipment
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical faults
- Complete planned preventative maintenance, asset care, and condition monitoring activities
- Set up, adjust, and optimise manufacturing equipment
- Support production teams to maximise equipment performance and minimise downtime
- Drive and support continuous improvement projects
- Assist with annual maintenance and overhaul programmes
- Ensure compliance with GMP, quality, health, and safety standards
- Train and develop colleagues in machinery operation, fault finding, and maintenance techniques
- Mentor apprentices and support their development
- Work collaboratively with Production and Engineering teams to achieve operational targets

Requirements
- Experience working with moulding machinery
- Previous Maintenance Engineering experience within a manufacturing environment
- Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills
- Ability to diagnose faults down to component level
- Experience carrying out planned and reactive maintenance
- Knowledge of production machinery setup and optimisation
- PLC fault-finding experience
Desirable
- Experience of moulding processes and process optimisation
- Understanding of mould and tooling change procedures
- Time-served Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship (C and G, NVQ, SVQ, or equivalent)
- PLC programming experience
- Control panel wiring experience
- Previous experience training, coaching, or mentoring colleagues
