Maintenance Engineer

Maintenance Engineer

Working for a high-volume manufacturer in Telford, we are seeking a multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer to support a diverse range of maintenance tasks involving pneumatics, hydraulics, motors, and PLCs.


About the Role

  • Identity: A hands-on, multi-skilled maintenance role covering automated equipment in a large, well-established manufacturing environment with shift-based working.
  • Location: Telford
  • Shift Pattern: Rotating daytime and night shifts (12-hour shifts)

Responsibilities

As a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer, you will be required to:

  • Reactive Maintenance: Fix breakdowns quickly to ensuring uninterrupted production
  • Preventative Maintenance (PPM): Implement planned maintenance to prevent failures
  • Fault Finding: Diagnose issues across systems including:
    • PLCs and robotics
    • Wydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems
  • Support Installations & Upgrades
  • Provide critical support to production teams to maintain machine availability

Requirements

Experience & Skills

✅ Electrical competence (experience in electrical fault-finding) ✅ Mechanical skills (capability for mechanical repairs) ❌⚠️ PLC fault-finding experience is highly advantageous ❌⚠️ Experience with automation and robotics is a strong preference

Preferences include proven experience as:

  • Maintenance Engineer
  • Maintenance Technician
  • Multi-Skilled Engineer
  • Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer
  • Mechanical or Electrical Maintenance Engineer
  • Shift Engineer
  • Mechanical Fitter or Service Engineer

Qualifications

✔ City & Guilds Level 3 (or equivalent in engineering or maintenance) ❌⚠️ Experience with Time Served Apprenticeships is advantageous ⟪ BT Safety Standards (18th Edition Wiring Regulations) is strongly preferred
