Maintenance Engineer

Maintenance Engineer (Electrician) Nestlé Coffee, Tutbury – Full-Time (Flexible Working Discussed)

Job Summary

Join Nestlé Coffee’s manufacturing team as a Maintenance Engineer at our Tutbury factory, reporting directly to the Logistics Manager. This critical role will see you drive plant reliability, lead maintenance strategy, and champion quality compliance across a wide scope of operations. Your engineering expertise and problem-solving mindset will be key to maintaining our production excellence—while continuously improving efficiency and reducing costs.


About the Role

Location: Tutbury

Salary: £48,000 (depending on experience)

Work Style: Full-time (flexibility accommodated via discussion)

Your Impact

Kenned by our dedication to Food Choice & Health, sustainability, leadership with heart, thriving together, and taking responsibility As Maintenance Engineer, you’ll:

  • Own engineering departmental performance and growth plans, ensuring the departmental OMP aligns with strategic goals.
  • Champion Nestlé’s Quality Policy via error-proofing processes and structured engineering change management.
  • Lead the revitalisation of PM03 structure within Logistics, enhancing maintenance planning effectiveness.
  • Deliver continuous improvement in plant reliability through proactive coordination and cost-reduction initiatives—an essential expectation.
  • Design and execute the maintenance strategy for the entire factory floor, balancing urgency with preventive maintenance.
  • Respond to breakdowns with a root-cause mindset, ensuring designed fixes are sustainable and embedded.
  • Elevate team capability by developing a competent workforce with targeted skills planning (training, mentorship, etc.).
  • Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practice (GPM) and ethics for plant, tools, and work environments—it’s non-negotiable.

Your Ingredients for Success

A Manufacturer with engineering experience, a troubleshooting instinct and a heart for improvement. We’re looking for an individual who can:

✔ Prove your qualifications:

  • Have served at least an NVQ Level 3/ City & Guilds equivalent in Mechanical or Electrical disciplines. (Multi-disciplined skills are desired but Electrical bias is paramount—prioritise experience here.)

✔ Bring hands-on technical background:

  • Experience in an FMCG/manufacturing environment (preferably engaged in manufacturing operations or production support engineering).
  • Strong practical abilities coupled with a "Can do" attitude—problem-solve efficiently and adapt swiftly when needed.

✔ Prioritism professionals & collaborative mindset:

  • Can operate in a busy, safety-conscious environment (GPM, Nexscan forages) while managing high workloads.
  • Leadership & coaching ability—charge and inspire teams, develop competence.
  • Influence through dialogue & productivity transparency—mission-critical for negotiation-level tasks.
  • Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) knowledge is mandatory.

✔ Ghosting across teams and levels:

  • Communicate fluently with technicians, supervisors, and senior stakeholders alike.
  • Lead development as solo entities when required, while making decisions that align with Nestlé’s values.
