Maintenance Technician Job Description
Overview
This role ensures planned, preventative, and reactive maintenance tasks (electrical/mechanical/FLT/Mobile Platform) are completed efficiently, while solving problems proactively and contributing to continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities

Planning & Execution
- Prioritise and execute maintenance tasks aligned with company objectives.
- Attend breakdowns to minimise downtime and monitor downtime for continuous improvement.

Technical Support
- Perform basic control systems troubleshooting (circuitry, PLCs).
- Conduct engineering appraisals to diagnose equipment inefficiencies and propose solutions.
- Maintain stock of routine parts and repair/replace equipment as needed.

Operational & Compliance
- Record accurate, detailed feedback on tasks in CMMS weekly.
- Obtain utility readings and conduct weekly fire alarm testing.
- Liaise with suppliers/contractors to ensure compliance with security, policies, and procedures.

Daily Operations
- Raise purchase orders for required parts.
- Organise general housekeeping of workshop/stores.
- Attend callouts and outages as needed for FLT/Mobile Platforms.
Certifications & Experience (Required)
✅ Proven experience in manufacturing maintenance (electrical/mechanical/FLT). ✅ Formal apprenticeship (HNC/HND) or equivalent in electrical/mechanical disciplines. ✅ C&G 17th Edition qualification (for electrical maintenance). ✅ Production licence for FLT/Mobile Platform work (or equivalent). ✅ Strong technical knowledge in preferred field (electrical/mechanical).

Preferred Additional Qualifications
🔹 Six Sigma Green Belt (min.) / Black Belt (preferred entry-best). 🔹 Degree-level qualification in engineering or related fields. 🔹 Hands-on experience with pneumatics/hydraulics.
