Maintenance Engineer

Maintenance Engineer (Milton Keynes)

Here at GXO, we are currently recruiting for a Maintenance Engineer to join our team in Milton Keynes, supporting our customer Waitrose.

About the Role

As a Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring that the depot and associated facilities are maintained in a safe and efficient operating manner.
  • Keeping buildings to the highest possible standards, in accordance with legislation and best practices.

This is a full-time, permanent role, primarily working Monday to Friday on a rotating night-time shift pattern:

  • 05:30 until 13:30 (mornings)
  • 13:30 until 21:30 (evenings)

Key Responsibilities

On a typical day, you’ll be responsible for:

  • Assisting the Engineering Manager to ensure all contractual obligations are met effectively and with minimal disruption.
  • Monitoring and maintaining large industrial ammonia refrigeration plants, ensuring they remain in optimal performance at all times.
  • Undertaking planned and reactive plumbing & drainage maintenance.
  • Conducting electrical testing & fault finding.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

  • An Engineering qualification (such as City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3).
  • Strong mechanical & electrical skills, with an electrical bias preferred.
  • Formal training and certification in 18th Edition wiring.
