Work Schedule
- Rotational days/weekends
Environmental Conditions
- Able to lift 40 lbs. without assistance
- Adherence to all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Safety Standards required
- Cleanroom compliance enforced:
- No hair products, jewelry, makeup, nail polish, perfume, or exposed piercings allowed
- No facial hair permitted
- Work with:
- Cold Rooms/Freezers (-22°F / -6°C)
- Fluctuating temperatures (hot/cold)
- Loud noises (equipment/machinery)
- Rapid-flashing lights
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required (safety glasses, gowning, gloves, lab coat, earplugs, etc.)
- Exposure to:
- Strong odours (chemicals, lubricants, biological products)
- Various outside weather conditions
- Warehouse operations involved
- Work with hazardous/toxic materials
- Working at heights required on occasion
About the Role
In this role, you will participate in a wide range of maintenance engineering activities across our production and facility footprint. Collaboration with colleagues from multiple levels and disciplines ensures we deliver an exciting, robust production facility to our clients. You will take ownership of both planned and unplanned maintenance, applying operational excellence and continuous improvement principles to enhance equipment reliability while ensuring minimal equipment downtime.

Responsibilities
Key Tasks & Accountabilities
- Apply problem-solving and lean manufacturing techniques to resolve equipment issues, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
- Drive maintenance team improvements, upholding high standards of 5S principles, waste elimination, and non-value-add activities.
- Actively engage in:
- Upgrading and refining equipment and processes
- Managing small projects
- Support routine maintenance tasks to ensure equipment reliability across the site.
- Contribute to GMP documentation:
- Identify errors or bad practices
- Suggest improvements
- Support change controls and documentation upgrades
- Utilise external resources:
- Contractors or equipment specialists
- Generate and complete necessary documentation (e.g., Purchase Orders, quitotations, spares requests, work permits)
- Maintain awareness of engineering stores spares control.
- Hold accountability for:
- Timely closure of tasks
- Adherence to targets (e.g., Preventative Maintenance schedules, training completion).
- Work in classified areas (e.g., cleanrooms) following strict dress codes.
- Assist in:
- Writing clear and accurate maintenance instructions
- Training and instructing engineering and non-engineering staff where appropriate.
- Provide cover for team members (e.g., Technical Support, Engineering Coordinators) when necessary.

EH&S Compliance & Safety
- Understand and follow emergency procedures and safe systems of work.
- Ensure compliance with Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) and security protocols.
- Conduct timely reporting and assist in accident/near-miss investigations and rule breaches.
Minimum Requirements & Qualifications
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer with:
- A strong foundation in:
- Electrical control systems
- Automated systems
- Manufacturing process equipment
- Relevant qualification(s) in:
- A recognized engineering discipline (e.g., C&G, HNC/HND)
- Preference for candidates who completed an engineering apprenticeship scheme.
- Preferred prior experience:
- Working in a manufacturing facility
- Exposure to Pharmaceutical environments
- Core skills:
- Ability to problem-solve collaboratively (team and individual basis).
- Commitment to safety compliance and operational excellence.
