Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Maintenance Fitter role based in Coalville. The Maintenance Fitter will perform day-to-day plant and machinery maintenance, including fault finding, repair, and installation of mechanical components across quarry and industrial sites.
Responsibilities
- Carrying out preventive and reactive maintenance
- Fitting and replacing parts
- Supporting plant upgrades
- Ensuring equipment operates safely and efficiently
- Working to maintenance schedules
- Responding to breakdowns
- Collaborating with mobile teams and workshop staff
- Adhering to all health, safety, and environmental procedures
- Contributing to continuous improvement by identifying issues, proposing practical solutions, and maintaining accurate maintenance records

Qualifications
- Skills in Plant Maintenance and Maintenance & Repair for heavy industrial or quarry machinery
- Skills in Preventive Maintenance and Fitting to carry out planned servicing and component installation
- Skills related to working with Machinery, including mechanical fault diagnosis and hands-on repair
- Relevant technical qualification (e.g., NVQ/City & Guilds in Mechanical Engineering, Maintenance Engineering, or similar) is beneficial
- Experience in quarry, mining, recycling, or heavy industrial environments, with strong knowledge of health and safety practices, is advantageous
- Ability to read technical drawings, use hand and power tools safely, and work effectively as part of a maintenance team
- Strong problem-solving skills, reliability, and flexibility to support occasional out-of-hours or breakdown work as required
