Maintenance Lead

Maintaining excellence & operational efficiency

Key Responsibilities

As a Maintenance Lead, you’ll be pivotal in ensuring the seamless function of equipment and processes at our Great Yarmouth site, combining technical expertise with leadership to drive reliability and safety within a high-speed manufacturing environment.

  • Oversee all maintenance activities, blending preventative and reactive strategies to support continuous production uptime.
  • Minimise equipment downtime while ensuring operational efficiency is maintained.
  • Lead project work, 5S initiatives, and continuous improvement across production and warehousing.
  • Support the smooth installation and commissioning of new equipment.
  • Maintain a safety-first culture, ensuring strict compliance with HSE and environmental standards.

How You’ll Lead and Optimise Maintenance

  • Elite coordination: Oversee daily maintenance tasks and respond to equipment breakdowns with urgency.
  • Proactive planning: Develop and execute preventative maintenance programmes while managing budgets and materials.
  • Cutting-edge reliability: Drive continuous improvement by identifying waste and enhancing equipment performance.
  • Data-driven action: Conduct root cause analyses, ensuring accurate maintenance records and KPI reporting.
  • Partnership focus: Strengthen inter-department collaboration, bridging maintenance with production and engineering teams.
  • Supplier & stock management: Optimise spare parts inventory and build strong supplier relationships.

Professional Requirements

Essential

  • Five (5+) years’ experience in maintenance within a manufacturing environment – demonstrating expertise in mechanical & electrical systems.
  • Exceptional fault-finding skills trained in diagnostics and repairs.
  • Comprehensive understanding of preventative maintenance systems (CMMS or COR-based).
  • A strong grasp of HSE, quality standards, and best practices in equipment reliability.
  • High-pressure resilience to prioritise tasks effectively under tight deadlines.

Differential (Advantageous)

  • Engineering qualification: NVQ Level 3, HNC/HND or equivalent.
  • Hands-on experience with automated or assembly line equipment.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement tools.
