Maintenance Lead

About the Role

As a Maintenance Lead, you'll [play] a pivotal role in ensuring equipment reliability, performance, and compliance within a regulated OTC Health environment. Your responsibilities include:

  • Leading all **engineering [and] reliability activities to achieve:
    • Zero breakdowns
    • Elimination of recurring losses
    • Maintenance of validated, compliant equipment
  • Collaborating closely with Cell Leads, Process Leads, Quality, Validation, [and] Engineering teams
  • Driving CAPEX, safety, quality, [and] productivity improvements
  • Hands-on technical leadership in a role that demands strong problem-solving, reliability expertise, [and] the ability to coach [and] upskill team members.

Key Responsibilities

1. Breakdown Elimination & Reliability Improvement

  • Own the cell Breakdown Elimination (BDE) system, [and] lead root-cause analysis for major losses.
  • Drive sustainable countermeasures using structured problem-solving tools.
  • Develop [and] maintain equipment reliability strategies to reduce unplanned downtime.
  • Analyse **failure data [and] loss trees to prioritise improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure technical standards [and] critical spares strategies are maintained.

2. Maintenance Planning & Scheduling

  • Lead the cell's maintenance planning [and] scheduling.
  • Build [and] maintain preventive maintenance plans aligned to equipment criticality.
  • Ensure effective weekly maintenance schedules [and] material readiness.
  • Track **PM compliance [and] execution quality.

3. Zero Loss Mindset

  • Champion Reckitt’s IWS Zero Loss goal within your cell.
  • Eliminate chronic equipment losses impacting SQDCS metrics.
  • Translate loss intelligence into actionable improvement plans.

4. Engineering Support for Projects

  • Provide engineering input to **CAPEX [and] productivity projects.
  • Support:
    • URS development
    • Design reviews
    • FAT/SAT (Factory Acceptance/Start-Up Testing)
    • Commissioning
  • Ensure maintainability [and] reliability are integrated from design.

5. Capability Building & Coaching

  • Train [and] coach team members in:
    • CIL (Condition Improvement Language)
    • Defect handling
    • Basic condition monitoring
  • Develop technical ownership among operators.

6. Standards, Compliance & Safety

  • Ensure compliance with **GMP, EHS, [and] engineering standards.
  • Own engineering risk assessments
  • Manage permit-to-work systems.

Requirements

Ideal Candidate

✔ Qualified engineer [or] equivalent technical experience ✔ Background in **maintenance planning, scheduling, [and] equipment reliability ✔ Experience in regulated environments (GMP/GxP highly desirable) ✔ Knowledge of TPM/IWS principles [and] maintenance excellence frameworks ✔ Proven root-cause analysis skills + experience reducing equipment losses ✔ Strong leadership & coaching abilities to influence across teams ✔ Ability to interpret **data trends [and] act on insights ✔ Experience supporting **engineering projects, commissioning, [or] CAPEX delivery ✔ Commitment to safety, compliance, [and] process discipline
